Soldier Of Sound: Matthew Ezra

What band/projects are you currently involved in? Just one sexy serving of Kaya . What/who are your main musical influences? I’m pretty sure every drummer has said this, but it has to be John Henry Bonham and Chadwick Gaylord Smith. Fucking love these guys. What are your weapons of choice? If I had to pick a weapon of choice, it would be an AK-47. But if it’s on a weird day I’ll probably pick drumsticks for sure. What are you currently listening to? Them Belly Full (But We Hungry) Bob Marley & The Wailers. Message for young musicians: Honestly, keep making mistakes, but learn and become better. Keep playing as many shows as you can. To be heard you need to be seen, don’t be discouraged if you had a shitty show/gig. Shit happens. Carry on! Thank your fans! Cause they dig the shit you play hahaha. Endorsements: I’m glad to say I’m self endorsed. But some free cymbals now and then wouldn’t hurt. Oooo and drumsticks mannnnnn! Labels: We’re still in the midst...

Listen: Glistening Redchair "Guide Us Into Believing"

Glistening Redchair (GRC) is a heavy rock band from Kuala Lumpur and they promise destruction by the power of the riff! Their new release " Guide Us Into Believing " does exactly that, in a really good way. Written, recorded, mixed and produced by the main brain of the band, this EP is loaded with enough energy to satisfy any heavy-rock fan. Writing about what it means to live in our modern world, Gheff Abd Ghafar (vocals, guitars) and Mohd Firdaus 'Boss' (drums) regularly perform at various venues within the local rock circuit, promoting their December 2016 3-song demo. Gheff is also part of Landasan , a community supporting local rock bands. Released in May 2017, "Guide Us Into Believing" showcases the band's mature songwriting and clever usage of raw vocals, heavy rhythms and headbang-worthy breakdowns. Opener "Pip, Boy!" explodes into a furious mosh-inducing rocker complete with commanding vocals and a tasteful guitar so...

Soldier Of Sound: Soheil Sanjabi

Interview with Soheil Sanjabi, an inspirational personality, guitarist and songwriter of Billie Blue & The Nowhere Men . What projects are you currently involved in? My main band is a four-piece psychedelic folk-rock outfit called Billie Blue & The Nowhere Men (BBTNM). I am a part of a corporate party band called Madsally. I'm also a part of Pris Xavier’s soul-rock band. I session with several other artists here and there as well. How do you juggle between work and music? Well, my main job IS doing music! So as long as I manage my time with shows, rehearsals and teaching music, I’m good. What's the inspiration behind BBTNM's music? Frankly, every song has a different inspiration behind it. We are easily inspired by human emotions and energies as well as old folklore and fantastical stories. For instance, the imagery and overall mood behind Sea Salt Slide was inspired by the Japanese folklore tale, Okuri-Inu. The Okuri-Inu is supposed to be a dog/wo...
