Listen: Nakedbreed's Self-Titled

Nakedbreed is a rock band from Kuala Lumpur comprising of Justin (vocals), Sara (drums), Jack (guitars) and Ian (bass). Formed in 1998, Nakedbreed (with former guitarist Rueben) released a demo titled "Breeding Ground" from which their first single " Tribute " was featured in a compilation titled "Pheaw: Volume 1". Their self-titled debut album was released in 2001 under Fat Boys Records . Comprising of 11 tracks all written by the band, the superb album was produced by Jason Lo and mixed by Nicholas Blasband at Synchrosound Studios. Nakedbreed's flavor of rock is fueled by solid rhythms, clever guitar-work spiced with appealing riffs and mature vocal melodies; anyone from 6 to 60 can enjoy this album.

What band/projects are you currently involved in? Besides playing bass for Skies Are Red , I am also in a J-Rock band called PHNX and we are currently practicing for our shows this coming November for FANG at Aswara and Comic Fiesta this December. I am also working on some material with Tiametria ; we’ve been gone for way too long. Besides that, I session for other musicians playing other genres of music. What/who are your main musical influences? I grew up listening to a lot of heavy music (thanks to my brother), especially Lamb of God, Ozzy Osbourne, and Linkin Park. Besides these guys, I love Queen, Guns N Roses and Led Zeppelin. These bands have definitely made an impact in my life. I also listen to a lot of blues and sometimes jazz music so I like to incorporate that into my playing. What are your weapons of choice? I play Sterling SUB Series bass. What band/projects are you currently involved in? Just one sexy serving of Kaya . What/who are your main musical influences? I’m pretty sure every drummer has said this, but it has to be John Henry Bonham and Chadwick Gaylord Smith. Fucking love these guys. What are your weapons of choice? If I had to pick a weapon of choice, it would be an AK-47. But if it’s on a weird day I’ll probably pick drumsticks for sure. What are you currently listening to? Them Belly Full (But We Hungry) Bob Marley & The Wailers. Message for young musicians: Honestly, keep making mistakes, but learn and become better. Keep playing as many shows as you can. To be heard you need to be seen, don’t be discouraged if you had a shitty show/gig. Shit happens. Carry on! Thank your fans! Cause they dig the shit you play hahaha.
