What band/projects are you currently involved in?
I am currently involved in two bands, namely on a trip and Edge, both are primarily experimental rock instrumental bands. on a trip has just released our debut album earlier this July.
What/who are your main musical influences?
Mono, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Tortoise, Slint, Sonic Youth, Radiohead, Massive Attack, Portishead, Badbadnotgood, Tool, etc.
What are your weapons of choice?
I am currently using a Spear stratocaster, a decent budget guitar. For bass I'm using a Ibanez Blazer, it is absolutely lovely. And a bunch of effect pedals like EHX Memory Man Hazarai, Boss DD7, MXR Bass DI+ etc.
What are you currently listening to?
Grails, Tinnitux (Malaysian stoner rock), Big Thief, Death In Vegas, Elmu Hisab (Malaysian experimental rock), St Vincent, Charles Bradley.
Message for young musicians:
Start somewhere, doesn't matter where. Focus on what you want to express, instead of what the audience would like to hear. Serve the song instead of playing for yourself. And always keep it real.
